Nature Calls (and so does adventure!)

Whenever I have idle time, I feel as if I'm wasting it if I'm not planning my next excursion. My next destination to somewhere new. My break from modern complacency. I crave the new experiences and breathtaking sights! In my experience, the best ones are completely by accident.

The feeling of needing to go

I did that thing where I graduated and got a big girl job and achieved financial stability! Now, I want the payoff. I want to travel. Coming from a very broken home as a kid, vacations weren't even remotely on our radar of things to do. We were too poor. My parents were too.. themselves. I hadn't really had the chance to travel. Certainly not my own trip, right? That would be ridiculous lmao

Even when I got my new car, I never thought I should go. It never dawned on me that it was actually incredibly feasible if one did it correctly. I mean, until it did. Until I realized that I can totally do that and be home in time for supper.

So, I spontaneously drove to Colorado and it changed my life.

Emphasis on the changed my LIFE!

I experienced things all on my own, survived with my dog in the wildernes

s all on my own. Went hiking and explored the wild on my own accord. Spontaneously want to set up shop with the hammock? Cool, nobody else needs to agree with that. No time crunch. No waiting.

All I had to do was make sure I had enough water for Link and me.

It was both incredibly empowering and wonderfully serene.

Powerfully peaceful..?

I like the sound of that :)

I've had the urge to travel ever since. The active hunger for it. Colorado was wonderfully good to me and changed my life forever.
