A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas is the second in the infamous ACOTAR series. This book made me fall in love, head first, with this series. As a survivor of abuse, it is inspiring to watch Feyre escape an abusive relationship and eventually find someone that really, truly respects her. The first book has you rooting for Tamlin, but this one is all about Rhys. You come to absolutely adore him and see that he has loved and been committed to Feyre since the very beginning. He is secretly selfless as he sacrifices so much for his secret city. Everything he has done, including fabricating his bad-boy reputation, has been to protect his people and those he loves. Watching Feyre fall for him and find her place in this new world is incredible. With the new threat of Hybern on the way and the cliffhanger ending, completing this novel had me immediately reaching for the next. This series has consumed me, I can’t wait to read more of Maas’work. Her writing style is addictive and leaves me wanting more and more and more. I did not consider myself a fantasy reader, but after this series, I think I will be fully converted to the genre.
