A Court of Silver Flames
“Nesta Archeron has always been prickly-proud, swift to anger, and slow to forgive. And since the war-since being made High Fae against her will-she’s struggled to forget the horrors she endured and to find a place for herself within the strange and deadly Night Court. The person who ignites her temper more than any other is Cassian, the battle-scarred, winged warrior who is there at Nesta’s every turn. But her temper isn’t the only thing Cassian ignites. The fire between them is undeniable, and it only burns hotter as they are forced to work closely together. As the threat of war casts its shadows over them once again. Nesta and Cassian must battle monsters from within and without as they search for acceptance-and healing-in each other’s arms”
A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J. Maas might just be my favorite in the series so far. It is the only one to successfully make me cry. I felt Nest’s hatred for herself so viscerally. I felt her power and strength and stubbornness, which is wildly different from Feyre’s perspective and outlook on life. I even went so far as to be annoyed at Rhysand for how he was treating Nesta (when I adored him before). I was on the edge of my seat for Nesta’s entire transformation. She made friends and found herself, even with Cassian. She grew into herself and accepted the ugly parts of herself and even mated with Cassian, AH! The wedding scene at the end was so cute, and I do believe her powers being taken away (in an exchange, really) being a blessing for her. She gets to live peacefully with her family, now that she truly embraces them as her own. I also take great comfort in the unfinished business of war and conflict. For it means that we will surely be getting more of this series from Maas.
